NEW MEXICO – photographic journal – 3 of 5
I am aware that it is duck hunting season and I have already passed a few parked trucks, so I don't know if I will be able to access the area safely. But I too am 'hunting', so I don't let this deter me. Upon arriving I pull over at the road entrance and read the signs with my headlight, and find out that Unit A is currently closed to hunters, so with that information, I am delighted. It's still dark out, and I look down by the sign with my flashlight and see a huge frozen print, paw print that is....
UNTIL IT MELTS
With winter upon us, and thinking you've done all you need to do to prepare living in the mountains, you still find yourself unprepared. When the rain changed to snow with no warning while you slept, and you didn't get your vehicle down the mountain before it happened and you find yourself snowed in... until... Continue Reading →
EXPOSURE
So this morning started out the same as every other. The house was still quiet (a rarity in a house full of rescues), I made my coffee, and started the typical routine of getting my eyes opened with some perusing of social media before I start my gallery work. It's always wonderful to wake up... Continue Reading →

MAGENTA IN THE SKY
With the sky burning from riots in cities across America, we need to remember that each day is a new day to start over and change the things we can without violence and destruction. As the embers from the night before smolder, it sends us a message that we must do better than the day before if we want to see another glorious sunset like this Magenta in the Sky horizon (taken in the Florida panhandle).
