A RARE NORTHERNER

A RARE NORTHERNER

In this incredible world we live in, it is full of creatures who are different from one another.

Take this Northern Cardinal (Cardinalis cardinalis) for example. What makes this one stand out from the rest?

We all know cardinals are supposed to be red, aren’t they? Then why is this one white and pink?

That’s a good question, and in this case it has a explanation. Though more often than not, the reason isn’t easily answered when trying to understand what makes an individual different.

This white bird is a rare leucistic Northern Cardinal. While its outer shell is peculiar, it is just a cardinal all the same. It does the same things other cardinals do. The only exception is how it looks. In the animal word, this bird is an abnormality. A seriously ‘flawed imperfection‘!

Is this bird flawed, or is it perfect the way it is?

You decide!

Personally speaking… I feel it is these very differences that makes our diversified view around us so spectacular!

WHAT IS PERFECTION?

While there is a clear definition of what being perfect and flawed means, by those standards this white bird is clearly a defect, and a very pronounced one!

Though when I look at this image, I don’t see a defective bird at all,

I see EXQUISITE beauty!

Perfection = Perception

Defects can come in many forms and no species is free from being affected. Some may be miniscule, and some more pronounced. You may have a visual, mental, verbal, hearing, or a physical disability that makes you different than another. Maybe it happened at birth, or maybe came later in life. The how’s really aren’t important from this perspective.

The point is, once you realize that there is nothing wrong with having defects, imperfections, or disabilities; life becomes so much easier as that one burden is lifted. Basically you stop worrying about things that are out of your hands, and start focusing on things you have actual control over in your life.

The truth is… perfection is an absurd, unrealistic expectation for any living organism.

No matter how hard you try to achieve it, you never will attain it.

Perfection is for objects, not living beings.

It is time that you realized… just like this ‘flawed‘ cardinal,

your ‘imperfections‘ are beautiful too!

NEWS FLASH:

We are all imperfect, we’re human!

Perfection isn’t reality. Reality is imperfection!

Your individuality, in its entirety, is a rareness that ‘sets you apart’ from everyone else. There is not another just like you on this entire planet. Flaws and all! Think of the significance of that!

You are ONE OF A KIND!

Don’t hide from it, cherish it!

You are perfectly imperfect!

DON’T FOLLOW THE FLOCK

Flock of cranes mimicking each other

You are different – You are flawed – You are beautiful – You are YOU

When you accept yourself, embrace yourself, learn to love yourself, and all the differences that make you special… only then will you fully appreciate all you have to offer this world.

“Be yourself.
An original is always worth more than a copy.”

  • It’s time you stopped letting your flaws have power over you, over your actions, and over your life.
  • Stop dwelling on the negatives, and start focusing on your strengths and abilities instead.
  • Find what bring you joy and happiness… and build on that!
  • If you’ve been hiding in the shadows…. Step outside of your comfort zone and see how great it feels to be the NEW you. The one who doesn’t carry the burdens of imperfection!

‘We cannot change the cards we are dealt, just how we play the hand.” -Randy Pausch

So play your hand like you’ve just been dealt a Royal Flush, even if you weren’t.

You are in control of your own destiny…. create an amazing one today!

I’ve got a theory that if you give 100 percent all of the time,
somehow things will work out in the end.
