I often get asked by friends to “take me there’ or ‘take me with you next time’ when you go back. It is quite an honor when your images affect others in this way. Though my usual response is: It’s not likely that I will get back there in this lifetime. Not because I didn’t LOVE the location, I most definitely did! It’s because it is an enormous planet, and there are thousands of places I have yet to see. When traveling locally, sure I may get to a location a few times, or more. But traveling across country and especially international travel, the odds are that I won’t return to a location twice. My motto is, and I live by this:

If you have never been one to travel, I urge you to do so as often as you can. Even if it is only locally, there are new experiences right around every corner. Travel sets you free! It will change the way you view life, people, and places. It doesn’t have to be far away on an expensive trip. Try a new ethnic restaurant, explore a new local park, go to an art exhibition at your public institutions, go to a neighboring town and walk the historic section, or just drive a new route home from work. Get out of your normal routine and do something different to change it up. You won’t see ‘new things’ if you keep doing the ‘same things’.
