Carr and Tucker Allotments are located within the Doublehead Ranger District of the Modoc National Forest (MDF). The two allotments are comprised of 137,940 acres of National Forest Systems land and are located south of Clear Lake Reservoir (locate)
USFS simply removed a section that now only covered a 232,520 acre territory in the 2013 plan, saying it was “in error” that it was included in the first place. That litigation won (locate), as that is not the correct process to change boundary lines, and all 258,000 acres would be included in the forest management plan” as shown below

The northern two-thirds of the HMA has a gentle slope with a southern aspect dissected by shallow drainage courses. The southern third of the HMA is a shallow alkali lake. Vegetation consists primarily of juniper and low sage with bluegrass, squirreltail and needlegrass in the understory.

Jul 1 22 Court rules BLM’s 10-year wild horse roundup plans violate the law– FOA U.S. District Judge Colleen Kollar-Kotelly delivered a victory to Friends of Animals by ruling that the Bureau of Land Management does not have authority to issue wild horse roundup decisions that are in effect for 10 years.
